Cut your units. Cut your risk.

The problem

24% of adults in England and Scotland regularly drink over the Chief Medical Officer's low-risk guidelines and 27% of drinkers in Great Britain binge drink on their heaviest drinking days. This increases the risk of heart attacks as well as colon, pancreatic and kidney cancer. A shocking sets of facts that needed a hard hitting campaign to land its message.

The solution

To highlight the dangers of drinking too much, this gruesome campaign showing diseased organs in drinking glasses was created to reinforce the risks. The campaign ran for Balance North East Alcohol Office and the NHS across multi media channels.

Outcomes

In 2019/20 in England, 74,618 people were in treatment at specialist alcohol misuse services, a fall of 19% since 2013/14. Plus 59% of people successfully completed alcohol treatment in the same year. Much of the behaviour change was attributed to awareness campaigns and PR.
